Taking place on Bank Holiday Sunday 24th May, the daytime gathering will be held at Freight Brixton from 3pm to 9pm… a new venue choice that reflects both growth in scale and intent. With attendance expected to exceed 1000, it positions itself among the largest rooftop experiences of its kind in London.
The format remains deliberately uncompromising. Admission is limited to those aged 23 and over… while the musical policy is fixed… a continuous selection of Soca, Dennery, Bouyon and Jab. In a landscape that often leans towards broad appeal, this level of specificity is notable… and central to its appeal.
This clarity is not incidental. The promoters behind Soca On De Roof, themselves of Caribbean heritage, have consistently positioned the event as a high quality representation of the culture it draws from. Their approach is not to reinterpret Caribbean music for wider audiences, but to present it as it is intended… with authenticity, structure and respect for its origins. In doing so, they offer not only a party, but a more accurate expression of what Caribbean culture represents in a contemporary London setting.
Demand has already demonstrated momentum. Tiers 1, 2 and 3 have sold out entirely, with 40% of Tier 4 tickets, priced at £35, now allocated. A final Tier 5 release will follow… a progression that suggests a full capacity outcome is not a question of if, but when.
What emerges is less a party, and more a statement of cultural confidence. A London rooftop hosting over 1000 attendees under a singular musical direction remains an uncommon proposition… one that reflects both the maturity of its audience and the continued rise of Soca led experiences within the city.
